Real Country Music from Grass Valley, California
Andrew Wainscott
Vocals & Guitar
“He's a poet, he's a picker”
- Kris Kristofferson; The Pilgrim A native of the Bluegrass State, Drinking & Dreaming's lead singer Andrew Wainscott has been playing traditional and roots music since he was knee-high to a June-bug, as they say in Kentucky. “He’s a walking contradiction” When Kris Kristofferson wrote that line he could have been talking about Andrew. Sweet and unassuming as can be, Andrew can bring on the tears with a voice so steeped in heartbreak and loss you can’t help but buy what he’s selling. |
Joe Carlson

"And when they slide that thing along the strings
It sounds so doggone heavenly, you hear an angel sing" Leon McAuliffe Steel Guitar Rag A Northern California native, Joe Carlson also got his start in music at an early age, getting his first guitar at age 8. While living in San Francisco in the 1990’s he formed the notable SF roots-rock outfit the McAllisters. "An' when you start your feet, your heart will beat The rhythm to that old steel guitar rag" Now living in beautiful Grass Valley, CA, Joe is pushing pedals on his Sho-Bud pedal steel and bending strings on his Fender Tele with Drinking & Dreaming. |
